Jewish Energy Covenant Campaign

COEJL is working to bring Jews around the country together to work toward a better future on the common ground of a healthy environment, green jobs, and a secure energy future through action, education and a personal pledge that we urge you to take!

News and Events

Download the full resource sheet here and feel free to share it.

On August 9th, 2010 COEJL hosted a conversation involving rabbis from five Jewish religious streams - Conservative, Orthodox, Reconstructionist, Reform, and Renewal - discussing Jewish environmental resources and sermon materials for the High Holy Days and shortly thereafter for parshat Noach. We have created a collection of rabbinic resources from the call for you, your synagogue and community. Please make as much use of these resources as you can, for the busy month of Tishrei coming up soon!

Download and listen to the full rabbinic conversation with Rabbi Fred Scherlinder Dobb, Rabbi Naphtali Weisz, Rabbi Daniel Swartz, Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Keiner, Rabbi Arthur Waskow, Rabbi Ethan Linden and more...

Jewish Leaders Speak on Gulf

On July 16th, 2010 COEJL hosted a national conference call with Rabbi David Saperstein of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, Julie Schonfeld of the Conservative Movement's Rabbinical Assembly, and Rabbi Ethan Linden of of Congregation Shir Chadash in New Orleans, about their recent trip to the Gulf of Mexico region. They shared their experience and helped us better understand the ongoing impacts of the oil disaster and what we can do as Jews to help. Download an MP3 of the call here.
