Interfaith Religious Leaders to Rally at Capitol for Energy Conservation and Climate Justice

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO FORM A HUMAN GRAPH OF GREENHOUSE GASES

WHAT: Interfaith Capitol Hill Rally for the Energy Conservation

WHEN: Tuesday, May 22nd, 12:30pm-1:30pm

WHERE: Capitol East Lawn between the Senate and the Supreme Court (near the Senate Swamp)

All people of faith are invited to be part of a “human graph of global CO2 emissions” on Tuesday May 22 at 12:30 PM in front of the Capitol Building. The human graph will be made up of people from various faiths and traditions from around the country — people addressing the issues of energy and climate change from a moral perspective.

The human graph will coincide with a press conference to release a statement to President Bush and members of Congress signed by religious leaders calling on President Bush to choose safe clean and sustainable sources of energy to protect and preserve God’s creation.

The press conference and human graph are being organized in conjunction with a national environmental justice conference organized by the National Council of Churches USA.
